Celebrating 40 years of excellence in education and research in the field of horticulture within the Faculty of Horticulture at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca is a moment of great joy for the academic staff, the graduates and the students of the faculty. The Council of the Faculty of Horticulture has the honour to invite you to participate at the ceremony and scientific programme at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca (UASVM), 26-27 September, 2017. “35 YEARS OF HORTICULTURE EDUCATION IN CLUJ-NAPOCA, 1977-2012”
Celebrating 35 years of excellence in education and research in the field of horticulture within the Faculty of Horticulture at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca was a moment of great joy for the academic staff, the graduates and the students of the faculty.
The ceremony took place in Aula Magna “Mihai Serban” of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca on the 29th of November, 2012, according the following schedule:

Dear Colleagues, dear Students,
dear ISHS (International Society for Horticultural Science) members,
Following the proposal of the Academic Council of Faculty of Horticulture, the Senate of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca decided to grant honorific title Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor Jules JANICK, a recognised leading figure of the worldwide horticulture.
On September 30, 2010, we attended on these award festivities and we enjoyed for the celebration of a true titan of the world horticultural sciences. You can find information about this special moment in Editorial ‘Tribute to a Leading Personality of World Horticultural Science‘ published in Notulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca journal.
On this occasion, Professor Jules JANICK presented a general lecture in a plenary session of the 9th International Symposium “Prospects for the 3rd Millennium Agriculture”, entitled ‘Art as a Source of Information on Horticultural Technology’, published in ‘Bulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca. Horticulture’.
